about header

Carolyn (or "Lyn") Alexander has been painting Horses, Cats and Dogs since she was a schoolgirl, first in Newmarket and more recently in Ireland. She became captivated with the African scene on her first of now many safari trips in 1989 and has subsequently included the birds and the wildlife native to that Continent in her collection.

Though largely self-taught, she was early influenced by such notables as her Mother, sculptress Peggy Alexander, artist and sculptor John Skeaping R.A. and portraitist Richard Stone Reeves, all of whom proved invaluble with their help and insight through the early years. Her work has progressed through the years, painting comissions for racing enthusiasts not only in the U.K. and Ireland, but on the Continent, the United States, Africa and Australia.

The list of her equine subjects reads like an honour roll of thoroughbred royalty and has inclued:

NUREYEV, SIR IVOR,
THE MINSTREL, SEATTLE SLEW,
SINNDAR, MOCCASIN,
MEISQUE, DIESIS,
SADLER'S WELL, CARELEON,
BE MY GUEST, RIVERMAN,
LIFE'S MAGIC, RIDGEWOOD PEARL,
HANDY PROVERB, MARAUDING,
